What You Need For Visitation

Visiting the Santa Clarita Jail of California has some common rules defined by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). Some facilities have their own rules according to a certain circumstance. Santa Clarita Jail is on a rotating visiting schedule.

General visitation rules:

  • Generally, the visitor is allowed to once a month
  • Visiting person must not be prior a felon
  • Must have a photo Government ID such as driving license, ID card, military ID or passport
  • A legal guardian with proof is required for children below 16 years of age. A birth certificate or any identification for the proof of the age of the minors is required.

Visitation Information

Every inmate is allowed to visit twice per week for one hour each time. Inmates in general population are allowed to have four 15 minute visits totaling one hour in total. Special handling inmates may also receive two 30 minute visits per week as well.

Sending Money To An Inmate

Inmates of the Santa Clarita Jail can receive money in different ways. They can receive money via following allowed ways in their commissary account upon approval:

  • Cashier
  • Money orders
  • Cheque
  • Online transfer

You should pay very close attention to the rules of the facility or institution where the inmate is incarcerated. Sometimes they require money senders are on the inmate’s visitation list. Some institutes or correctional facilities have a deposit limit, like $200-300 at a time. In federal prisons and correctional facilities, there is no such limit.
