What You Need For Visitation

  • Driver’s License, State Identification or Passport
  • Inmates Name, Booking Number & Date of Birth
  • Childcare, children are not permitted to be unattended during visitations and this can lead to the suspension of visitation if it occurs.

Visitation Information

You may visit an inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center, which is operated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Monday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Because the MDC’s visiting hours and roster of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change without notice, you should always call the MDC before visiting. You can reach an officer at the MDC at any time by calling 213-356-3448.

Inmates are permitted only one visit per day for 15 minutes. One (1) adult and one (1) child may visit at one time. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen may visit at any time for as long as they like.

Sending Money To An Inmate
